The Office of Diversity, Inclusion & Equity shared that Tariq Ameer has been selected as the Director of the Muslim Student Life and Associate Chaplain. He will begin at Lehigh on May 30, 2024.
Tariq brings ten years of experience as an Islamic teacher and chaplain to this position, along with a passion for supporting individuals of diverse backgrounds and beliefs. His background includes positions as chaplain at both Northern State Prison and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, as well as teaching at the MECCA Center in New York City. He is excited to bring his varied experience and skills to focus specifically on providing spiritual and emotional support to the Muslim community here at Lehigh.
